Rednano.sg ties up with Getty Images to boost collection of Singapore-themed images

Singapore, 24 November 2008 – Starting today, rednano.sg, Singapore’s local search and directory service, will offer access to a bigger and more extensive database of Singapore-themed images to its users, through a tie-up with the world’s leading imagery provider Getty Images.

This, and a separate collaboration with WhosGoing.sg, a party community portal, will boost the rednano.sg image bank by more than 800,000 Singapore-themed *records. Rednano.sg’s extensive collection includes images generated daily by SPH’s award-winning photojournalists. This covers multiple genres such as:

• News (SARS),
• Sports (Swimming, Table Tennis, Bowling, Golf)
• Entertainment/Events (Singapore GP F1 Race, National Day Parade)
• Local celebrities
• Famous Personalities (President SR Nathan, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew).

Founded in Seattle, USA in 1995, Getty Images is the world’s leading creator and distributor of photos and images and the first company to license imagery via the World Wide Web. Each month, Getty Images serves out 3.2 billion thumbnails (of photos) and attracts 175 million page views and over 4 million unique visitors to its websites. The first phase of this strategic partnership between rednano.sg and Getty Images focuses on Singapore- themed images and will subsequently cover Asian-themed photos and images.
