Rednano.sg receives Innovative Online Achievement title

Singapore, 11 October 2008 – Singapore’s home-grown search and directory engine rednano.sg was honoured Friday night with a new title for innovation by one of the media industry's top names.

"It is very well-designed and has one of the best navigation structures I've seen in an online site,” said Mr Allein Moore, publisher of AdAsia, a monthly magazine which keeps its pulse on the advertising industry, in presenting the Innovative Online Achievement title to rednano.sg.

The presentation was done at AdAsia's annual Asia Interactive Awards ceremony which was held at Gotham Penthouse at Clarke Quay.

Mr Moore was a founder member of the Creative Circle of Singapore and also the first President of the Designers Association of Singapore, a role he held for four years. During his successful career on the advertising scene in Asia, he was in turn Creative Director at Saatchi-Compton, Leo Burnett and Chiat/Day/Mojo. He became a partner in Standard-CDM where he was Executive Creative Director for 12 years.

Rednano.sg's Chief Executive Officer Paul Jansen, who received the Innovative Online Achievement title from Mr Moore, said: "It's great to receive recognition from an organisation like AdAsia at such an early start - just six months - of our business.”

"These are interesting times for the online industry. As the world reels from the shocks of the business and economic setbacks, people are rushing to new sources of information to make sense of what's happening around them. This has seen huge traffic increases at key websites. For instance, Singapore Press Holdings' AsiaOne site has had a 10 per cent surge in page views recently."

"Rednano.sg has also seen a growth in visitors. Interestingly, the terms people are searching for has also shown what is now preoccupying their waking hours. Where our Top 10 search terms were things like COE and names of actresses or reviews of restaurants, now we are beginning to see searches for AIG and minibonds."

He added: "We will continue to do our best to ensure that whatever people interested in Singapore are looking for, rednano.sg will provide the relevant results."

The annual Asia Interactive Awards honours the best work in web designing and online advertising. The awards also aim to play a role in helping develop the use of new technology in advertising, promotion, brand building and consumer relationships.

Among the top winning categories were Best Online Campaign and Best Viral Marketing Campaign, winners selected by a panel of professionals, to recognise agencies that produce effective online and viral efforts in the interactive field.
