Rednano Locate penetrates
Windows Mobile Phone market
HTC Touch 3G and HTC Touch Cruise are the first two Windows-based mobile phones preloaded with Rednano Locate

Singapore, 7 April 2009 - Rednano Mobile, the mobile platform of local search and directory engine rednano.sg, is offering Rednano Locate , its free location-based mobile search and directory service, to a larger pool of smartphone users.

The first two Windows-based mobile phone models to offer Rednano Locate are the HTC Touch 3G and HTC Touch Cruise, as they will be preloaded with the service. These preloaded handsets can be purchased at retail channels managed by BrightPoint, a global distributor appointed by HTC (Refer to Appendix 1 for images of the two HTC handsets).

Officially launched on 4 December 2008, Rednano Locate allows users to search for more than 100,000 vendors, including retail outlets, restaurants or petrol stations located near them. In addition to getting full addresses, contact details, maps and the latest ‘live’ traffic updates, users can also enjoy a wide range of promotions.

With the inclusion of the Windows Mobile operating system, Rednano Locate will now be supported on over 50 mobile phone models, including those running on the Symbian operating system.

A global leader in mobile phone innovation and design, HTC Corporation (HTC) is rapidly gaining market share in the recent years, especially with the launch of HTC Dream, the first Android Powered phone released in Singapore. With the recent launch of these two latest Windows Mobile Phones – HTC Touch 3G and HTC Touch Cruise, HTC is the first of Rednano Mobile’s strategic partners to preload Rednano Locate into their mobile phones.

Besides its technical innovation and stunning design, the HTC Touch 3G was selected to preload Rednano Locate due to its touch-responsive interface. It is designed to respond perfectly to finger movements and helps users to navigate seamlessly through contacts, media and web pages with speed and precision. With the HTC Touch 3G, users of Rednano Locate can easily do searches for their preferred destinations located near them, all at their finger tips. The HTC Touch 3G also allows users to read emails and surf YouTube clips via its Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional software.

In addition to being able to input their comments into the photographs or videos that they take, HTC Touch Cruise allows users to save the locations where they were taken. Users can then use the Maps feature in Rednano Locate to navigate their way to these locations and even avoid traffic congestions with ‘live’ traffic information.

Ms Shirley Tan, Director of Business Development (Mobile), said, “As part of our Mobile strategy to ensure that Rednano Locate is made available to more than 90% of the mobile phones in the market by June 2009, we will be working with other renowned mobile phone manufacturers to preload Rednano Locate in more mobile devices.”

Rednano Locate is just one of the three mobile services offered by Rednano Mobile. The other two mobile services are Rednano WAP (mobile.rednano.sg) and SMS 3333, a mobile directory service.
